About me

My name is Cristina de Olano. From a very young age I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a culture and language different from my own at the German School in Tenerife.
I have devoted most of my professional path to the sphere of marketing. Throughout my career in the corporate world, I have had the opportunity to live and work in different countries. This has helped me to develop a multicultural vision and to know how to adapt communication to each type of consumer, depending on the generation they belong to, the interests they have, their personal situation and the place where they live.

Professional Career:

Marketing Career
After finishing my studies in International Business Administration with a double degree from ICADE (Spain) and the University of Reutlingen (Germany), I decided to settle in Madrid. I began with an internship at a company part of the Prisa holding dedicated to media advertising management. After almost two years, I was offered the opportunity to switch to Philip Morris as an international marketing trainee, moving to Lausanne (Switzerland) and, later on, to Munich (Germany). With the years, I assumed growing responsibilities in the area of Marketing and Sales, until the consumer communication was restricted to the point of sale. But I had an unfulfilled wish: conducting a TV campaign. Thus, I joined Goodyear as Senior Brand Manager for Spain and Portugal and enjoyed launching a great advertising campaign, with events all over the country, use of social networks and websites, and, of course, a TV campaign that comprised the first New Year commercial on a private TV channel.
Translator and Editor specialized in Marketing and Finance
My career in the world of marketing had reached a turning point. After exploring the possibility of opening a catering business, I decided to leverage on the knowledge and experiences I had accumulated during more than ten years of working at multinational consumer goods companies and combine it with my passion for languages. So, I became a freelancer who offers translation, transcreation and editing services for specialized content. Shortly after starting my freelance career, I was commissioned to translate a book on finance and investment written by the American motivational speaker Tony Robbins. It was then that I began to specialize in financial and economic issues as well. To date I have translated, adapted content for the Spanish public and revised financial terminology for more than ten books, some of which are still pending publication.
